Getting started with StoreAgent AI Tasks

If you’ve ever stared at a long product list with missing descriptions, half-written summaries, or thin category pages, you know how much manual content work piles up in a WooCommerce store. AI Tasks are StoreAgent’s collection of single-purpose AI helpers that handle that work for you. They generate product copy, summarise reviews, tag products, suggest cross-sells, and more. This guide walks you through turning on AI Tasks, what each one does, what a run costs, how to preview one on a sample product, and how to use them across your store.

Requirements

• StoreAgent installed, activated, and connected to your StoreAgent account. If you haven’t done that yet, see Getting started with StoreAgent.
• WooCommerce active with at least one product in your catalog.
• An active AI Tasks allowance on your StoreAgent plan. The free StoreAgent Lite plan includes 200 AI tasks (one-time). See the pricing page for higher-tier allowances.

Turn on the AI Tasks you want

Every AI Task is opt-in. You enable each one separately so you only spend AI Tasks on the parts of your store you actually want help with.

1. In your WordPress dashboard, go to StoreAgent → Settings.
2. You land on the AI Content Tools tab. Every AI Task is listed there as a card.
3. Turn on the toggle on each card for the AI Tasks you want to use.
4. Click SETTINGS on any card to adjust how that AI Task behaves (language, prompt style, fields used, and so on).

What each card shows

The tab is titled AI Content Tools For Your WooCommerce Store. Each AI Task card has these parts:

• Toggle: turns the AI Task on or off. StoreAgent saves the change straight away. If the save fails, the toggle returns to its old position and an error message appears.
• Credit cost: a small label under the name, such as 1 credit / run. It shows how many credits one run of that AI Task uses. The label is hidden when no cost is available.
• RUN ON A SAMPLE: previews the AI Task on one product of your store. It appears on Product Description AI, Product Summaries AI, Product Tags Generator AI, Image Alt Tags AI, and Product Upsells AI. See Preview an AI Task on a sample product.
• SETTINGS: opens the settings for that AI Task.

Credits count against the AI Tasks allowance on your StoreAgent plan. Bulk run summaries report the total as AI Tasks used. AI Tasks that work with other plugins are listed under Third Party AI Content Tools, below the main cards.

You can always edit and regenerate AI-generated content before applying it. Every AI Task shows you the generated output first and lets you tweak it (or re-run with different settings, such as a different output language) before it touches your live product page. Nothing goes live until you say so.

What each AI Task does

StoreAgent groups its AI Tasks by purpose. Each one has its own dedicated guide that goes deeper into setup, inputs, and edge cases. Links are below.

Product page content

These AI Tasks write or improve the copy on your product and category pages.

• Product Description AI: generates full, on-brand product descriptions. Inputs used: product title, short description, categories, tags, and product attributes. The richer your existing product data, the more accurate the generated description. How to use the Product Description AI agent
• Product Summaries AI: writes short product summaries for cards and listing pages. Pulls from the same product fields as Product Description AI (title, attributes, and main description). • Product Tags Generator AI: suggests and applies relevant tags to each product based on its description, features, and category. Better tags = better internal search and category-page browsing. How to use the Product Tags Generator AI agent
• Category Description AI: writes category page descriptions to improve SEO and give shoppers context when they land on a category archive. How to use the Category Description AI agent
• Image Alt Tags AI: auto-generates accessible, SEO-friendly alt text for every product image. Important for accessibility, and Google reads alt text when ranking image search results. How to use the Image Alt Tags AI agent

Reviews

• Review Moderation AI: flags incoming product reviews that look like spam, fake content, or inappropriate material before they go live on your storefront.
• Review Summaries AI: reads the approved reviews on a product and writes a short summary that shoppers see in the Reviews tab, with key takeaways marked positive, neutral, or negative.

Cross-sell and revenue

• Product Upsells AI: scans your catalog every 24 hours by default (you can change this in its settings), finds products with no upsell or cross-sell pairings set, and brings suggested pairings to your dashboard for one-click approval. Nothing goes live until you say so.

Coupons (with Advanced Coupons)

These AI Tasks work with the Advanced Coupons plugin. On the AI Content Tools tab, the Coupon Description AI card sits with the main cards. The Coupon Generator AI card appears under Third Party AI Content Tools, below the main cards.

Vendor moderation (with WC Vendors)

For multi-vendor stores running WC Vendors.

• WC Vendors Product Moderator AI: reviews vendor-submitted products against your store policies before they go live, flagging anything that needs human review.

Preview an AI Task on a sample product

Use RUN ON A SAMPLE to see what an AI Task produces before you run it on your catalog. StoreAgent runs the AI Task on one representative product from your store. It does not save anything until you choose to apply the result.

1. Go to StoreAgent → Settings and open the AI Content Tools tab.
2. Click RUN ON A SAMPLE on the card you want to try. A panel titled Run on a sample, followed by the AI Task name, opens on the right.
3. Read the cost message. A normal run shows This sample run uses 1 credit. The number matches the credit cost on the card.
4. Click Run on a sample in the panel footer. The panel then shows two messages in turn:
   • Finding a sample product… while StoreAgent picks a product.
   • Generating a preview… this does not save anything. while the AI Task runs.
5. Review the result. The panel shows the sample product (click its name to open it in the product editor), the Generated output, and a line such as This run used 1 credit.

When the result is ready, the footer offers these buttons:

• Apply to product: saves the generated output to the sample product. After it saves, the panel shows Applied to the sample product.
• Run in bulk: opens the WooCommerce Products list, where the bulk action lives. It appears for Product Description AI, Product Summaries AI, and Product Tags Generator AI only.
• Close: closes the panel. Nothing is saved to the product.

A sample run uses credits, the same as a normal run. Product Description AI can use more than the cost shown, because a thin product can need a second pass. For that AI Task the cost message reads This sample run uses at least 1 credit. Thin products may cost more. The line after the run shows the exact number used.

AI Tasks marked Offline

When an AI Task is not available for use, its card also appears under an Offline Agents heading below the main cards on the AI Content Tools tab. The heading only appears when at least one AI Task is offline.

• The offline card is greyed out and shows a red Offline label. It has no toggle and no buttons.
• Move your pointer over the card to read the reason. If StoreAgent gives no specific note, the card says This agent is currently not available for use.

Run AI Tasks per product or across your whole catalog

You can run most AI Tasks two ways:

• Per product: open any product in the WooCommerce admin and click the Generate with AI button on the relevant field (description, short description, tags, etc.). The AI Task runs once, on that product. Useful for new products or one-off fixes.
• In bulk across your catalog: use StoreAgent’s bulk operations to run an AI Task on every product (or a filtered subset) in one go. The bot runs in the background, you approve generated content before it goes live, and you can pause or cancel mid-run. Bulk operations include a pre-flight credit check so you know roughly how many AI Tasks a run will consume before you start.

Edit and regenerate before applying

AI-generated content is always reviewed by you before it touches your live product page. After an AI Task runs, you can:

• Edit the generated text directly in the field. Fix the tone, add brand-specific phrasing, or tweak any detail the AI got slightly wrong.
• Regenerate with a different setting. For example, change the output language, switch the tone, or adjust the length, then re-run the AI Task on the same product.
• Discard the suggestion entirely if it’s not useful and try a different AI Task.

Frequently asked questions

Does the AI overwrite my existing product content?

No, never automatically. Every AI Task generates a suggestion that you review and approve before it replaces your existing content. You can edit, regenerate, or discard the suggestion.

What inputs does Product Description AI need to work well?

Product title is required. Beyond that, the more product data you have (short description, attributes, categories, tags, brand metadata), the more accurate and on-brand the generated description will be. If you’ve only got a product title, the output will be generic; expect to edit it heavily.

Can I exclude price or stock levels from product summaries?

The summary AI Tasks reference your product’s existing fields when generating output. To shape what’s included, edit the AI Task’s settings (click Settings on its card under StoreAgent → Settings → AI Content Tools) and adjust the prompt or excluded fields. How many AI Tasks does each run consume?

The cost of one run is shown on each card, for example 1 credit / run. Generating a description for 50 products at 1 credit each uses 50 credits. Bulk operations show an Estimated cost and your AI Tasks remaining before you start. Product Description AI can use more than its listed cost on thin products.

Can I run AI Tasks in a language other than English?

Yes. Most AI Tasks have a language setting in their card’s Settings. See How to select the language for StoreAgent content for the full walkthrough.

Why do I see a notice saying I don’t have any StoreAgent tools active?

StoreAgent shows this notice on your WordPress admin pages when your store is connected to StoreAgent but every AI Task is turned off. It reads: You don’t currently have any StoreAgent tools active, would you like to turn on the defaults?

1. Click Turn On All Defaults to turn on every AI Task in one step. The notice then shows how many were enabled and closes after a few seconds.
2. Or click the dismiss (X) button and turn on only the AI Tasks you want under StoreAgent → Settings → AI Content Tools.

If you dismiss the notice, it stays hidden for one week. It comes back after that if every AI Task is still off. The notice disappears as soon as you turn on at least one AI Task.

Why is an AI Task marked Offline?

An Offline card means that AI Task is not available for use. Move your pointer over the card to read the reason, if one is given. See AI Tasks marked Offline above.
